Céleste is a platform for driven makeup artists in the NY area to grow their own businesses. Conceived as a service paralleling sites such as behance.com or workingnotworking.com, users are able to create portfolios, as well as manage their bookings and payments through the website.
We helped build Céleste from the ground up, shaped the brand and developed the UX, which allows the artists to create a semi-custom experience for their portfolios. With attention to detail from sign-up, to the back-end and booking processes we delivered an experience tailored to the contemporary metropolitan beauty scene.

The Visual Identity
Serious, elevated, creative — but not too luxurious and tailored to the toughest beauty market in the US, New York — our brand lives through restraint, without being too minimalist. A dynamic palette of nude colors is used for general marketing, while the user experience is predominantly black and white. Our typography choices manage the balancing act between being sophisticated, yet quirky enough to create a contemporary vibe.
Website
When we started working with Céleste, we set out to build something unique and not just a facebook for make-up artists. The user experience for both the client and artist had to be elevated and exclusive, to make it the go-to booking and portfolio site in the space. Make-up artists are able to effectively turn Céleste into their one-stop solution, for the presentation of their work, their client interactions and their billing, giving both established and up-and-coming artist a tool that let’s them focus on the artistic aspects of their careers.
Aesthetic functionality
The majority of our time spent during the design process was dedicated to making sure that we deliver an exclusive, modern and aesthetic experience at every stage, re-thinking existing and templated solutions in the space and making sure that beauty was integral to the platform down to the last pixel.
